Why Mahashivratri is Celebrated? Significance of Mahashivratri
The great night of Shiva, or the Mahashivratri, is an unembellished but very spiritual culture in the Hindu calendar. It is a festival that falls on the fourteenth day of the lunar month, that is, February to March, just when the moon is about to become new; this day is to worship Lord Shiva. This religious activity is known among millions of believers who fast, pray, and enact stands in the middle of this sacrificed night for their blessings and spiritual attainment.
Beyond those acts of worship, Mahashivratri has meanings for why mahashivratri is celebrated. It is a representation of overcoming darkness with light, an endeavor toward enlightenment.
Mahashivratri carries great importance, manifesting the unique convergence of energies in nature. This night, the northern hemisphere feels a natural surge of energy that is elevating people to a higher spiritual level. In this event, you should keep awake by placing the spine in a vertical position so that this energy can work. This night is the gorgeous observance of self-renews and self-discovery. Thus, it is going to be a real transformative event for seekers who want to know what is special about mahashivratri.
Mahashivratri is celebrated without boundaries, celebrated by different communities across the world, with much embellishment in the temples with sacred chants in the air and scented fragrances. It is a month of congregational prayer, and thus, time stands as testimony to the rich culture of India.
