Satya Narayan is one of the manifestations of Narayan or Lord Vishnu and He is considered as the embodiment of truth. He is commonly worshipped by all Hindus who want to fulfil their desires; and worshipping Him brings respite from sufferings. However, the Puja must be performed in the manner prescribed and as per religious rites to be effective.

  • Do's and Don’ts During Puja

    Do’s:

    • Preferably sit on the floor in Asan. If needed and for elderly, chair can be used

    • Maintain silence and mental focus. Finish the puja in one sitting if possible

    • Offer Prasad, fresh Flowers, tulsi, coconut with devotion (eg: sweets preferably home made:- halwa, panjiri/churma, boondis, jalebis, kheer, ladoos ; fruits like:- bananas, apples, pineapple, mangos, pomegranate, coconut

    • Preferably wear light color, yellow, saffron, orange.

    • Ask your children to participate, help them to focus and not cause distractions for others. Avoid interruptions and distraction for others.

    Don’ts:

    • Avoid garlic, onion, alcohol on the day of Path

    • Don’t leave the book open or on the floor

    • Avoid distractions like phone, eating, or talking during the recitation

    • Be aware of not going in front of the camera and blocking the view.
