Sunderkand is a chapter from the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana that narrates the story of Lord Hanuman and his journey to Lanka in search of Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, who had been abducted by the demon king Ravana. Reciting Sunderkand has several benefits for the mind, body, and soul.benefits like removing negative energy, boosting courage, fostering peace, and fulfilling desires, as it narrates Lord Hanuman's heroic journey, emphasizing devotion, strength, and overcoming obstacles. Start the Path:
Follow instructions by Priest.
Recite Sundarkand from the Ramcharitmanas or a dedicated book provided at the temple or link provided above on your device.
Read with full focus and bhakti (devotion)
Avoid interruptions and distraction for others
Finish the paath in one sitting if possible
Ask your children to participate, help them to focus and not cause distractions for others
Do's and Don’ts During Sundarkand Path
✅ Do’s:
Preferably sit on the floor in Asan. If needed and for elderly, chair can be used
Face east or north direction
Maintain silence and mental focus
Offer Prasad, coconut, tulsi and fresh Flowers with devotion (eg: home made sweets - halwa, panijri/churma, boondis, jalebis, kheer, ladoos ; fruits like: bananas, apples, pineapple, mangos, pomegranate, coconut)
Preferably wear light color, yellow, saffron, orange.
❌ Don’ts:
Avoid garlic, onion, alcohol on the day of Path
Don’t leave the book open or on the floor
Avoid distractions like phone, eating, or talking during the recitation
