Akshaya Tritiya Meaning : The Eternal Prosperity
Learning about Akshaya Tritiya itself has a great meaning. In Sanskrit, the term “Akshaya” is also known as “eternal” or “never decreasing,” whereas “Tritiya” implies the “third day.” Therefore, Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akti or Akha Teej, is celebrated on the third lunar day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the month of Vaisakha (April-May). This timing is said to be particularly favorable for new beginnings and acts of charity.
Akshaya Tritiya meaning thus points to a day when any good act, investment, or charity will forever continue to give returns. It’s one of the most sacred days in the Hindu calendars — a day so pious that one doesn’t need to see a separate ‘muhurat’ for launching any new work!
